Keeping Healthy with Sarah Hios

It’s that time of year again.

The weather is getting warmer, the sun is shining and summer clothes are coming out of hibernation. This is usually the time that people start thinking, “I should get to the gym and tone up for the beach/vacation/summer”! 

But let’s be honest…the majority of people don’t have time, don’t want to commit or have an injury that prevents them from REALLY jumping in and getting serious about their fitness. I was exactly that person right around 2 years ago when I took the plunge and attended my very first Pure Barre class. It was absolutely the most total body workout I had ever done.

It was so hard.   

I was exhausted. 

It was unlike anything I had ever done…I was hooked. The workout transformed my body and I felt stronger after every class  Now, 2 years and a baby later and I took my love for Pure Barre to the next level by becoming an instructor in the Columbia, Maryland location. I’m now 12 months post partum and the strongest I’ve ever been. I never thought I’d be able to do a 90 second plank or full body pushups! Pure Barre is not just a workout, it’s a lifestyle and it has transformed my life.

So now you’re thinking, “Wow, sounds great! But what is it?”. 

I’m glad you asked! Pure Barre is a 55 minute workout designed to fatigue the muscles utilizing small, isometric movements in high repetition.  The workout concentrates on the areas that most women struggle with: arms, thighs, seat and abs.  It’s VERY low impact so even if you have an injury, you will more than likely be able to fully participate in this workout. And if you’re looking for a more strenuous, cardio based workout, we just added Pure Platform to the schedule.
